NZSEE Conference 2018, Auckland, New Zealand

BIT is in Auckland to promote High Damping Rubber Bearing for seismic isolation

BIT is in Auckland to showcase its professional services and products related to anti-seismic devices in conjunction with the New Zealand Society for Earthquake Engineering's (NZSEE) Annual Technical Meet and Conference 2018.

The New Zealand Society for Earthquake Engineering's (NZSEE) Conference 2018 is held in Auckland this year from 13th to 15th April. This year also marks the 50th anniversary of the society which will be celerated in conjunction with the NZSEE Annual Technical Conference. The conference is one of the forefront scientific gatherings where scientists, researchers, and industry practitioners exchange their experiences and ideas to continually improve the technology related to earthquake engineering.

BIT participates in the NZSEE Conference 2018 as exhibitor alongside with the Malaysian Rubber Export Promotional Council (MREPC).

The conference attracted over hundreds of participants dealing with seismic engineering from all over the world including the United States of America, Europe, Australia, India, Indonesia and Japan. The scientific gathering which focused on resiliency of seismic engineering and lessons learnt from past earthquakes has managed to pool together forefront ideas and sharing of knowledge among active academia researchers and industry players.

As a matter of such, anti-seismic devices are one of the most resilient and cost-effective methods in reducing the seismic demands of a structure. Although the theory of seismic isolation itself is not a new concept to the Kiwis, such expo is a very good platform to increase the level of awareness and acceptance among structural designers.
